| I saw this show yesterday and wanted to jump up and call every woman AND man I know of. Usually I disagree with about 80% of what this woman says as far as her get out of debt plans. I think its totally stupid to say "there is always money" when I myself have had to make the choice to feed me or my kids before and I am not alone in any way. I had no internet, no cable TV, no cell phone, I haven't gotten my hair professionally done in over 20 years years, have never had my nails done, I own one pair of shoes, wear my kids clothes, etc. I KNOW at times there just is NOT $10 here or $20 there. Yet this woman that was on the show lost her husband, was in great debt and he left them without life insurance or anything. This spoke to me, not because of the debt part, but I have seen this happen to people over and over in my life. I have helped many people in this situation. We have even had friends live with us free of charge to help them get themselves back on track after a break up, a parents death, their spouse died or went to jail, etc. Unless you have enough money to survive 6-12 months if you were to lose your job, your spouse or any other catastrophe, here are things I feel you must do YOU MUST:
I think these are things you absolutely must do without fail in order to even start to get financially stable MY OPINIONS" I, personally, save money myself and when I reach $100 I try to find something to invest in. I no longer save at my own bank as they charge me to save and the interest they pay me on anything under $1,000 is just truly not worth anything but a rip off. Get you an account somewhere that is 100% free. Although I am unable to save more then $10 a month right now, I still save it I would not advise you to do anything blindly. I think, as in my own situation, to give up your Internet to save $40 a month, unless it means you eat this month or not, lose your home, or something else, it is a must have. Read the book but use your common sense The Internet is the ONLY way I have of reaching the outside world as I am homebound 98% of the time. It is my main source of communication, information, news, its how my kids do homework, how I pay bills, our main source of entertainment, what I use for phone service which saves us $70 a month, etc I also do not suggest you give up something like your cell phone. Especially if you have kids or someone that needs to reach you often. Sure, don't get the phone with GPS and all that, but get a phone. Even a pay as you go phone is good to have. NEVER be without a way to communicate to someone if you are in trouble or have a way for your family to call you These days even cable TV is a must for some people. I know many without a computer, or just not computer savvy enough to use it as I do. After a day of work they relax with TV. They use TV for their news, cartoons for kids, movies to watch with the family and all that. Most often you can not get reception without cable, I know we cant out here. If its going to cause you depression, anxiety, take away from your family in some way, then keep it. These are just some of the thoughts that I have. I have always found a way to save myself or my friends whenever it is remotely possible. I saved over $30,000 on a job that I hardly worked because I was off sick half the time. While others bought their new cars, they toys, filled up their credit cards, I saved in my 401k, I own stock , I had a savings, I paid for all our cars outright, (all but one), I didn't waste my money on $100 pair of shoes and $200 purses or any of that. I was able to keep us afloat 18 months when hubby lost his job. I was able to buy our first home. I was able to help countless friends not lose their homes, get out of immediate trouble and much more. All because my mind has always been on saving for the future and putting money away. Although now I have learned you do NOT do that either unless your own family is secure enough to do it. Still I was able to help a few people off the streets and now they are back at work, taking care of their families and what not. Please do not be selfish and not pass this on. I don't care if you use your own words, have a financial source you know of that will benefit someone in a way you more agree with, please just pass THE WORD ON. If you are doing well, share the information with someone else. Give them something to think about that they never knew about. Just please, for once, do not be selfish. Take the risk and venture into someone else's life and not give a crap about everyone else because you and your family are doing ok. God forbid you are ever in the situation this woman was, I was or 40% America is at one time or another

Everything you wanted to know, and then some. The honest truth, as I know it to be. Especially how I deal with being chronically ill with crohns, colitis, fibromyalgia and more. Keep up with me, the kids and anything else that goes through my brain.
